Fairladies Barn is located in St. Bees, Cumbria. St. Bees is Cumbria’s most westerly point, it is a small village built around an 11th Century Priory. It has a superb sandy beach, tennis courts and a nine hole golf course. St. Bees Head, a red sandstone bluff, forms one of the most dramatic natural features along the entire coast of North West England. There are four miles of towering precipitous cliffs of St. Bees sandstone, this red stone is used for many buildings in Cumbria (including Fairladies Barn).

An RSPB Nature Reserve on the headland is home to England’s only colony of Black Guillimots. Puffins, terns and other sea birds can also be studied. There are observation and information points along the headland.
